Home Sweet Home

How does your family see your home? Is it a mere place to eat, sleep, take a bath, and change clothes? Or does your family look forward to going home, knowing it’s a place to relax, have fun and enjoy the company of each family member? If your family would rather stay out than stay home, then some things might need a little fixing.

Here are some helpful tips that will surely draw your family to where they belong- your home.

  • Don’t nag. After a tiring day, it’s the last thing anybody want to hear.
  • Unless one of the family members is allergic to animals, get a pet that the whole family would adore.
  • Have little surprises waiting at home for each member of the family. It could be a book, a box of chocolates, a new set of crayons or anything simple that will be useful to them and they will appreciate.
  • Always be willing to listen to anything each family member has to say, be it problems or trivial stories. This will make them see your home as place where they are accepted and understood.
  • Respect the privacy of each family member- even kids. Knock before entering the bedroom; don’t go through their stuffs without permission.
  • Make your home an entertaining place to relax and have fun by updating your collection of books, video tapes, CDs, DVDs, computer games, and board games.
  • Surround your home with plants and flowers. This will put more life in the place and will fit with positive energy and vibes.
  • There’s nothing else better to entice the senses than good food. Make everyday dinners extra-special. This will send the family rushing home, especially after a hard day at school or work.
  • Always keep the lines of communication between your family open. Consult each member of the family on their feelings, thoughts, and opinions regarding important matters.
  • Last but not the least, going home to a clean, fresh-smelling place is a treat to look forward to at the end of a tiring day.
